Amos Dextaire is a male peculiar who is the DJ of Devil's Acre's radio.
The Desolations of Devil's Acre[]
Amos first appears reading morning news, while Jacob is too tired to turn off the radio. Jacob notes that Amos's voice is like an oil slick, low and hypnotic. Amos continues to talk about peculiar sports, before saying that the lead and understudy in Miss Grackle's production The Grass Menagerie had fallen ill. He talks about the desolations plaguing the Acre, then puts on a piece of classical music that sounds like violins being tortured in hell to Jacob. Jacob notices a framed photo of Amos signed to Horace.
Amos later reports Caul's assault on Miss Plover's loop, and even he, who is normally calm, is shaken at the sight of her. After Miss Plover gives a brief description on what happened, Amos takes back the microphone and introduces Miss Bobolink, who asks everyone to keep calm.
