Biography[]
Magliabechi was born on October 29, 1633. He was an obsessive bibliomaniac gifted with perfect recall and a photographic memory.
To scholars, he was a living encyclopedia, and they would often consult him while researching. He did not often clean his house or even change his clothes with "life being so short and books so plentiful." His house was crowded with books, so many that it was difficult to walk between rooms. He considered spiders and the webs they built his dear friends and would never allow them to be cleared away.
