Charity Swidger is a female peculiar.
Biography[]
Charity lived in a loop in Nineveh, Indiana. While running an errand outside the loop, she was abducted by two wights who had no hollowgast with them. To keep her captive until one arrived, and with few good hiding places nearby, the wights put Charity in a ventilated glass box buried in the ground. She breathed with an air tube leading to the surface, and was given a battery powered lamp and comic books along with water and food laced with sedatives.
Her ymbryne went searching for her when she didn't return to the loop, which frightened the wights away. However, Charity in her prison was only discovered two weeks later by a boy walking through the woods, who heard singing coming out of the air tube. Although she was dehydrated and had aged forward 35 years, Charity was seemingly cheerful. This was due to her losing her mind, and for the rest of her life she could only sleep inside glass boxes and could only communicate in the form of musical numbers from turn-of-the-century show tunes.[1]
