Communicators are peculiars whose abilities allow them to communicate to flora, fauna, and the supernatural.[1]

Animal Communicators[]
These peculiars can communicate with animals and insects. Some can speak their own human language and be understood, others use the animal's language, or the communication might be nonverbal. Some animal communicators are part animal themselves, though not every peculiar with animal features is an animal communicator.

Mentalists[]
Mentalists can use their minds to communicate, and includes the abilities of prophecy and mind reading. Dreamworkers are a subclassification of mentalists, who are able to extract dreams or nightmares, make them physical, and do many things with them.
Diviners are considered by some ymbrynes to be mentalists, but divining is more of heightened body sensitivity rather than mind.

Plant Communicators[]
Only a small number of peculiars can speak to plants, and even smaller are those that can understand the replies.

Spiritists[]
Spiritists communicate with the dead. They might use tools such as Ouija boards, the séance table, a telephone, or even write letters.
