The Conference of the Birds[]
Francesca is introduced to Jacob Portman and his friends as Miss Avocet's star pupil, who has been working hard to untangle the web of languages that the Prophecy of the Seven was recorded in. She reads out some of what she has translated, and when Miss Avocet does not accept that a war between peculiars will happen due to ymbyrne failure, Francesca is compelled to say that she must have made a mistake between Latin, Hungarian and Old Peculiar, and that she has faith in the ymbrynes. She ends that the only line of the prophecy that all translations agree on is "To end the strife of war, seven may seal the door."
When Noor Pradesh mentions that she has strangely hazy memories of a certain town, unable to remember where she and V might have lived, Francesca suspects that Noor might have had her memories wiped. When Miss Avocet pinches a muscle, Francesca goes to fetch oils. She gives the oils to Miss Avocet and leads Reggie Breedlove towards Jacob and his friends. While Breedlove is seeing what memories he can restore for Noor, she and two other ymbrynes-in-training write down what Noor is remembering. After the procedure, she states that they have already made something out of the information Noor gave, prompting another ymbryne-in-training to say that the flora and fauna described narrows the possible locations of V's loop to the eastern half of the United States.
After Jacob, Emma and Enoch return from dealing with the American clan leaders, Horace mentions that Francesca has been working overtime translating a new section of the prophecy they hadn't understood before.
