Hadi Akhtar was a male peculiar with the peculiarity of a light-eater. He was one of seven peculiars of a prophecy to defeat Caul, but was accidentally killed before being able to try and do so with the other light-eaters who had made it to the meeting place of the seven.

Judging by his name, he may be the peculiar from the Kelardasht region of northern Iran, one of six locations that Sophie made calls to in order to gather the seven.
Hadi arrived safely to Miss Tern's loop with his ymbryne, meeting Julius Purcell and Sebbie Mayfield. While waiting for more of the seven, he got bored and wandered out for a bit. Not knowing that the road leading out of town had been mined, he tripped one and was killed before Sophie and Pensevus, who had went to retrieve him, were able to find him. His burned sock was taken by Miss Petrel.

Julius thinks Hadi's personality to be like that of a warthog.

Hadi was a light-eater, meaning he could eat and project his light. The exact nature of his peculiarity may be slightly different from other light-eaters, just as it does for the other known three.
