Itch is an aquatic peculiar from Devil's Acre. He has many qualities of a fish, and is able to breathe underwater. Along with the rest of his family, he is in strong support of loop freedom.
Biography[]
A Map of Days[]
Itch first appears to the peculiar children when he asks about their loop freedom, and wanting the same freedom for himself and his adoptive family. He and his family don't care about the dangers of the loop collapse, and say that the ymbrynes wouldn't tell them if they knew how to do it safely. Very angry, he pulls himself out of Fever Ditch with most of his family, and backs the peculiars into an alley while calling Jacob a "false prophet" until the group runs away.
The Conference of the Birds[]
Itch appears once again, angry at Jacob and calling him a phony, and hits him with mud standing waist-deep in the creek. He and a lady Ditch dweller continuing throwing mud at Jacob (with Noor also getting slightly hit) in a brief protest for loop freedom.
The Desolations of Devil's Acre[]
Description[]
Physical[]
Like many residents of Devil's Acre, Itch has a disheveled appearance. He is a heavyset man with pale fishy skin and gills, resembling a combination between a fish and a human. He wears a coat of green algae, with covers him from chest to feet.
Personality[]
Through his various interactions with the peculiar children, he is very passionate about his personal opinions and beliefs. Because he was bound to the muddy water of Devil's Acre for years, he strongly advocates for loop freedom, although this cause would impossible without a second loop collapse (which the ymbrynes insist would be highly dangerous).
Peculiarity[]
He is part fish and can breathe underwater, along with the rest of his family. They live in the polluted waters of Fever Ditch.
