Biography[]

The Conference of the Birds[]

As the American clan leaders, Parkins, Antoine LaMothe, and Leo Burnham appear together in a bar when Miss Peregrine and Miss Cuckoo. His clan is accused by LaMothe of kidnapping Ellery, which he vehemently, truthfully denies, though LaMothe does not believe him. The pair trade threats until Burnham yells at them to shut up and let the ymbrynes say their piece first. After Miss Peregrine tells them that Jacob is going to track a hollowgast that is supposedly involved, he and LaMothe are told that they can settle their disputes however they like if Jacob doesn't find compelling evidence.

When LaMothe brings out a knife of the Californios' that his clan had found, pointing the blame toward Parkins, Parkins admits that the knife is one of theirs but still denies the accusations against his clan, pointing out that wights could have planted the evidence. The argument is defused when Miss Peregrine distracts them by announcing that Jacob had a breakthrough.

Later, sufficient evidence proves that it wasn't Parkins and his clan that kidnapped Ellery, but the conflict between Parkins and LaMothe remains.

Parkins and his fighters arrived at Hopewell in person and witnessed what happened there. Along with LaMothe, they appeared to agree with the ymbrynes and seemed close to working out a peace agreement.

The Desolations of Devil's Acre[]

At some point Parkins, LaMothe, and their people arrived in Devil's Acre, with Jacob being surprised to see them at the all-Acre assembly.

Caul exposes through propaganda papers that in exchange for the peace deal, the ymbrynes had offered Parkins, LaMothe, and Burnham loop freedom, but only for themselves and not even their underlings. The ymbrynes tell Jacob and his friends that it is because the leaders are waiting for their reset that they have been such a constant presence in the Acre. Enraged, Parkins and LaMothe confront the ymbrynes, believing that they had leaked the secret agreement, which the ymbrynes deny. The two clan leaders then accuse the ymbrynes of lying to them about the readiness of the reset. They call off the deal and announce that they are going home and taking their people with them, refusing to help fight Caul any longer. However, the Panloopticon is closed until further notice, trapping the Americans in Devil's Acre. Miss Cuckoo has the home guards escort them out, ordering them to be locked in jail if they break anything or threaten anyone along the way.

It is unknown where Parkins and LaMothe ended up leaving to or what became of them, as they were not present to have their clocks reset with everyone else after the final battle.
