Early Life[]
Miss Ptarmigan made her loop on the Isle of St. Helena. When she heard rumors about a peculiar child living in a network of caves, she would seek the child, Sebbie Mayfield, out, and took her to her loop.
At some point, Miss Ptarmigan was filled in about the Prophecy of the Seven, and learned of the role that Sebbie played in it.
The Desolations of Devil's Acre[]
When Miss Ptarmigan received the call that the light eaters were gathering in Miss Tern's loop, she accompanied Sebbie there. Since she had to return to her own loop, she left the girl in Miss Tern's loop.
Sebbie talks about Miss Ptarmigan while telling her story to Jacob, Noor, Bronwyn, Horace, and Millard.
