Mr. Barron is a wight and the main antagonist in the film adaptation. He is killed by one of his own hollowgasts.
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (film)
Years before the events of the film, Barron was the leader of a group of peculiar scientists. He created an experiment harnessing the essence of an ymbryne's powers which would theoretically grant him and his group immortality, allowing them to live outside loops. However, they were instead turned into hollowgasts.
The group discovered that eating the eyeballs of peculiar children would restore them to human form, and they began raiding loops for this purpose. After becoming a wight, Barron still intended to perform the experiment for immortality, only with more ymbrynes than the singular one he had used the first time around. He tracked down Abraham Portman with the intention of getting the location of Miss Peregrine's loop out of him, but Abe was killed by Malthus before Barron could get the information he wanted.
Barron instead has to pose as Dr. Golan, Jacob's psychiatrist, in order to get Jacob to lead Barron to the loop. Once on the island, he poses as an ornithologist and follows Jacob into the loop entrance. By using Jacob as a hostage, he then kidnaps Miss Peregrine and takes her to Blackpool, caging her in her bird form along with several other ymbrynes.
Death
Later on, Jacob and the other peculiars rescue Miss Peregrine along with the other ymbrynes. Barron turns into Jacob in an attempt to trick Emma and Enoch into shooting the real Jacob, but is unaware of the hollowgast in the room. Barron is forced to change back to his usual form after the hollow picks him up, but the hollow still eats his eyes and kills him.
Description
Physical Appearance
Barron is a hefty, tall man with grayish-white hair, white eyes with a tiny black pupil, and long, sharp teeth. He looks to be in his late fifties. He can turn his right arm into any weapon of his choice, such as a knife, axe, machete, etc.
Peculiarity
Barron is able to shapeshift, whether into entirely different people or only changing a part of his body. However, as he states himself, the only thing he cannot change is his white eyes and he must use contacts to make them appear normal.
