Pompey was a peculiar dog.

Biography[]

She was enslaved by carnival organizers, who forced her to drag children around on wagons and even whipped her with riding crops. She was finally freed by Miss Wren and brought to Miss Wren's menagerie, but she tragically died a few weeks later from depression. After her death, she was buried in the menagerie's Pet Cemetery.

Peculiarity[]

Pompey could heal any wound with a few licks of her tongue.

Trivia[]

  • Her name can be seen on one of the gravestones in the photo of the Pet Cemetery .
  • Pompey was a Roman leader who was defeated in battle by Julius Caesar. He is described by Marullus in Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar  to have previously rode in a chariot through the streets of Rome.
