Susan "Susie" Portman, is a female normal, the eldest child of Abraham Portman, and the sister of Franklin Portman. She is a minor character in the first book.

Early Life[]

Susan grew up with a neglectful father, though she did not appear to feel as abandoned by Abraham as her younger brother. She, alongside her brother and mother, thought her father was taking trips when he was actually hunting wights and hollowgast. Susie and Franklin, her younger brother and Jacob's father, found one of Emma's love letters. Fearing that their father Abraham was cheating on their mother, they tore the letter up, and flushed it down the toilet. They appeared to form an unspoken agreement to pretend it never happened, never telling their mother and presumably never discussing it with one another.

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children[]

After her father's death, Susan accompanied Franklin to clear out the house, despite Jacob's protests.

She later gives Jacob a copy of Ralph Waldo Emerson's poems that Abraham left him for his birthday, much to Franklin's displeasure. This gift redeems her a bit in Jacob's eyes, as he appreciated having family member with a shred of respect for Abraham.

Personality[]

Like her brother, Susan is mentioned to not be a sentimental person. throwing out many of Abraham's possessions after his death.
